The Hostellerie PIERRE DU CALVET- built in 1725- is an ancestral family mansion. With its exceptional decorations- antique furnishings- family heirlooms and European character- it is known as a small Hotel-Chateau. The hotel is on Bonsecours Street- located in the heart of Old-Montreal and walking distance to the Old-Port- is one of the oldest in the city with its cobble stone street. The chapel Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours and the Maison Pierre du Calvet are surrounded by historic homes that date from the XVIIIth and XIXth century. From the onset- you are immediately seized by the magic and mysterious atmosphere that the stone walls emanate- the heavy woodbeams and the woodworks. The reception counter is Victorian baroque style with inlay work and surrounded by spectacular Louis XV consoles with their fantastic sculpted Griffins. The guest rooms and suites are luxurious with their stone walls- heavy ceiling beams and elegant wood panels. They are furnished with antiques- mahogany canopy beds- superior quality Egyptian cotton linens- fireplaces- living-in area and all the modern comfort amenities of a four star hotel.
