Untitled Document The NH Barbizon Palace is one of the Amsterdam's most distinctive hotels, which has installed modern luxury behind the restored facades of 19 historic buildings, most of which date from the 17th century. The hotel is located is in the oldest part of Amsterdam in the very heart of the city, overlooking Central station, in the immediate vicinity of the main entertainment and shopping areas as well as the financial district. There are 253 luxury rooms. Many of them are located in the restored 17th and 18th century part of the hotel, with its original oak beams and rafters. They are decorated in typical Dutch style with dark wooden furniture, cosy armchairs and contrasting patterned fabrics and furnishings. The hotel has a gourmet restaurant which is in traditional 17th century style. There is also a Dutch 'brown cafe' in typical local style, and an elegant cocktail lounge with original fire places. The hotel conference center is located in the historical St. Olofs Chapel which is connected to the hotel by an underground passage. The capacity of the conference center varies from 80 to 500 people. For small gatherings there are another 11 conference rooms as well as a fully equipped Business Center. |
